- Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home. Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
There is something so calming about paintings of cows. I like how you have most of the cow in shadow with just a hint of bright light.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy. So many of the shots that I take are backlit so it's a bit of a challenge to depict shadows without losing all of the details in them
