This bull really gave me the stink eye...can't say that I blame him since he had to put up with me following him around, singing to him, and snapping photos.
It's been months since I've visited Maple Acres Farm...perhaps this weekend since the temperatures will reach the 50's. This boy is so sweet. A bit shy but he will come a bit closer if you offer him some treats.
Just can't seem to get enough of these beautiful Detweiler girls. I sat with her while she ruminated which is what a bovine does when they digest their most recent meal.
Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home.
Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
