Olive is a  member of a small herd of Hereford cows in New Jersey. She and her sisters are the oldest cows I have ever met. ranging in age from 17-22 years. They belong to a kind and generous couple who have had them since they bought the house many years ago.

Something about the graceful look back...akin to a contrapposto pose for a baby bull.

Siesta

Siesta
8 x 8 Pastel on paper

One of the calves from Deep Run Dairy. She was comfortable enough to allow me to sit down next to her and take lots of photos.

Levi

6 x 6 Oil

One of the handsome boys at Maple Acres Farm . Whenever I need to lift my spirits, a drive over to this farm never fails to do the job.

Euphrasia

Pastel on Paper
8 x 10

A Pinzagauer cow from a small herd not too far from my home. Their kindly owner allowed me to spend time with his "girls" in their meadow.

Camille SOLD

My facebook friends in the Pastel Society of America group helped me name this girl. Thank you, Joanne Turner! I love the name because it reminds me of Camille Claudel. She had an affair with Rodin and there is a movie named after her. A tragic story, or at least it seemed that way when I saw it many years ago. This Camille lives at Deep Run Farm  in Bucks County, PA.
