I love cows and calves. This is great. My mom always named the cows and called the baby calves "blossoms" when you could see their heads sticking up out in the pasture. Happy to find your blog. Saw it on Ampersand Art Pinterest.
Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home.
Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
A GREAT painting!
