With those long floppy ears and expressive face, this Nubian doe is one of my favorites from the local herd near my home. It IS the year the goat ...or is it the year of the sheep? It depends on how you pronounce it according to John Oliver
Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home.
Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
This is really beautiful!
