I met this boy while on a plein air painting expedition in Bucks County,PA. I was with a group of painters who probably thought I had taken leave of my senses when they saw me running to meet him and his small harem. They didn't know me that well, so they weren't aware of my obsession with all things bovine and especially the ever increasing rarity of meeting an actual bull or steer. If you would like to know why bulls and steers are so rare, get in touch with me!
Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home.
Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
STUNNING!
