Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home.
Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
Beautiful! I was missing seeing a cow and was about to ask you if everything was OK. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteAn oil instead of pastel today! It's lovely!
That is so sweet of you! I was busy with a larger piece and couldn't tear myself away from it.
DeleteThis is lovely Susan, I was also missing my daily 'cow fix'! I really like the concept of the moon behind him :)
