Your work is phenomenal! Loove your cows.. you inspire me to get the pastels out and draw. Your story is very similiar to mine. You understand that you cannot ignore the fire in your gut that says "Paint"
Painting and drawing was a major part of my life as a child but dissapeared during my teens and through my life as an adult working fulltime in the corporate world. The awakening came one day at the office when I realized that I had to return to art, quit and took a partime job. I began classes at a local art league and painting at home.
Another awakening arrived when I had my first intimate encounter with a dairy cow. Then there was the interview with Temple Grandin...no more eating these beautiful creatures or anything with a mother. My goal is to depict these non-human animals as the sentient, beautiful beings that they are. That's it.
Zoe is beautiful, and I like the background, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you...will pass your compliment along to Zoe!
DeleteAnother fabulous painting! It helps that I love cows, but this is gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you. I only wish I had a cow or two !
DeleteZoe is wonderful! Any chance that Zoe would want to come live in Texas? Maybe swap Zoe for a rooster? I love this one.
ReplyDeleteZoe, love this girl. Colors are wonderful. Enjoy seeing your works on the 330 day challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you...always such a thrill when an artist tells me they like my colors.
DeleteThat fabulous blue really sets off the cow - another great piece, Susan.

DeleteZoe is a show stopper of a painting. I love your technique
ReplyDeleteThank you. What I nice thing to write. I do love those pastels although I think my technique might be to apply as much on my face as on the paper.
